Sasol Mining is South Africa’s third largest coal producer, producing over 40 Mt of coal annually. More than 90% of this is used for the production of Sasol’s synthetic fuels and chemicals.

The Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) is a unilateral US trade preference programme that provides duty-free, quota-free treatment for over 6400 tariff lines from 40 AGOA-eligible sub-Saharan African countries, including South Africa, into the United States market. South Africa is the largest non-oil AGOA-beneficiary country, exporting products such as automobiles and auto parts, agricultural products, chemicals, steel, and aluminium products, among others, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (dti).

Royal HaskoningDHV walked away with four awards for the Grayston pedestrian bridge at the recent SAICE JHB Regional Awards held in Midrand. The bridge was awarded the Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement – Community Based Category. It was also awarded the Most Outstanding Project in each SAICE Division – Transport Engineering Category. It came 2nd in the Most Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement – Technical Excellence Category, and came 3rd in the Most Outstanding Project in each SAICE Division – Structural Engineering Category.
