MechChem Africa Nov 2017 front coverThe November cover and cover story features thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions’ Process Industries. We talk to GM Neville Eve and Bruce Bassett, senior manager for Special Projects.

We preview FILTECH 2018 as the lead feature for the Plant Maintenance, which also includes the Mario on Maintenance column and stories from Multotec, Weir Minerals, SKF and Wearcheck.

Material handling kicks off with a rich piece from FLSmidth about its Modular Reflux™ Classifiers (RCs). We visit the companies Delmas Supercentre and talk to Roy Hazell about their use to beneficiate waste fines. In the corrosion feature, John Tarboton of sassda tells us about a recent case he has been involved with on the dairy industry. His key message is that stainless steel surfaces need access to oxygen in order to maintain their passivated protective surfaces.

For our lead Water and Wastewater feature, we visit Prentec and talk to Martin Pryor and Peter Günther about minewater and seawater desalination. Gary Crawford also talks about water this month in his Tracking industrial trends column and our innovative feature comes from a company called KAG Technical Solutions: Gavin Coetzer tells us about his Bluetooth-based locking system for greater security of infrastructure assets.
